Economy and Market

Credits are Veyrenth's whole-unit game currency. Players receive existing Credits through authorized transfers, principally selling loot to funded NPC merchants and trading with other players. Combat, ordinary quests and events do not mint currency. Treasury issuance and burn are explicit, bounded administrative programs.

Crown is a separate premium currency with its own ledger and lot history. Players can exchange permitted Crown and Tickets for existing Credits through the Market under monthly caps. There is no cash-out. This permits money to accelerate acquisition within shared combat ceilings and must be described accurately.

Units, accounts and supply

Persist Credits and Crown as checked signed 64-bit integers. Use wider checked intermediates for products. Prices may retain thousandths of a Credit internally; settlement rounds according to the quoted operation and always posts whole Credits. Reject overflow without a partial effect. Floating-point arithmetic is prohibited in money calculations.

M = P + E + N + T + R is the Credits supply identity. The sum including the control account is zero, with MCTL = -M.

Credits balances never become negative. A payment reversal may leave a Crown deficit under its dedicated reversal posting; that deficit cannot authorize Crown spending. Unrecovered Credit chargebacks become receivables rather than negative wallets or new spendable currency.

Dormant balances remain owned and do not expire. Active supply excludes player balances whose accounts have no qualifying session for 30 days; this exclusion changes policy metrics rather than ownership. The launch genesis candidate is 7,500 Credits × planned peak concurrent players, allocating 10% to NPC cash, 5% to the reserve and the remainder to circulation. It is an unvalidated launch parameter.

Ledger posting catalogue

Every posting has a type, permitted counterparties, immutable lines, a reason and a durable idempotency key. Its lines sum to zero.

Treasury policy

The daily close fixes the realm business date, snapshots reference prices, allocates fees, handles reserve overflow, sweeps merchants, funds top-ups, clears mature proceeds, collects receivables and reconciles. Each step has a restartable key. Collection precedes the policy snapshot.

The proposed fee split assigns 60% to circulation and 20% to reserve; the remaining share is burn subject to an allowance of floor(M_active / 3,000). Unused burn allowance and whole-unit rounding dust return to circulation. Aggregate all sixteen fee shards before rounding; reserve and burn targets each use floor(total_fees/5). Apply reserve overflow against the fixed pre-allocation active-supply snapshot. Treasury close rules define integer ordering and retry identity. The reserve Credit ceiling is 10% of active supply; reserve Crown above 50,000 is a burn candidate. These settings need later numerical verification.

Circulation uses trailing gross NPC top-up outflow O: a 3-day floor, 4-day policy trigger, 5-day goal and 8-day upper band. Normal issuance is bounded by the proposed 6-day outflow ceiling; an emergency program may use a 15-day ceiling with Council ratification within 48 hours. Programs include an approved total, expiry, remaining room and small tranches. Returning dormant value reduces issuance need; surplus circulation above the upper band is a burn candidate.

Growth demand uses realized top-up demand and policy-population play hours, rather than new-account count alone. Policy population includes T1+ accounts with qualifying loot sales and no established linked-account exclusion. The proposed growth term compares 28-day top-up means and hours against their 30-day-prior values, with a 5% deadband. The complete issuance fit, gross-versus-net outflow choice and level-255 economy remain numerical decisions in chapter 28.

NPC merchants

An NPC buys only supported goods and pays from its existing cash account. Cash exhaustion produces a visible unavailable quote; it cannot create Credits. Top-up targets follow executed purchases, with a content forecast for a new merchant. Offered-but-unaccepted loot cannot inflate its funding target.

NPC sale prices account for stock pressure, replenishment, fees and minimum margins. Buy quotes use an independently controlled seasonal value reference rather than manipulated recent player trades. Reject a configuration that permits profitable buy-and-resell loops without productive play. Quotes bind merchant, definition, quantity, price state and expiry; settlement rechecks stock, ownership and cash.

The starter grant is 100 Credits once per account after eligibility and email verification. A separate onboarding candidate transfers four stages of 30 Credits, one per 30 active minutes, during the account's first seven days. Both are funded L12 transfers. Level-gap vendor loot uses a proposed 25% payout when the monster is at least ten levels below the killer. Trust-tier T0 vendor sales have a proposed 400-Credit daily cap.

These are pacing inputs. The higher bands require a full level-255 retune; this table does not establish that players earn these amounts in production.

Player Market

One matcher owns each book. Price levels use FIFO priority within a price. A durable command journal records submission, cancellation, reduction and pause before their effects become visible. Crossing orders fill at the resting order's price. Self-match cancels the incoming remainder and returns its unused assets. Immediate-or-cancel orders release unfilled value; limit orders retain it. Reduction preserves priority; repricing requires a new order.

A buy order locks quantity × limit price. Each order tracks original, consumed and released escrow; their difference is never negative. Account escrow equals the sum of open-order residuals. Settlement commits item movement, ledger lines, trade ID, provenance and delivery reservation together. Items arrive in the Consignment Box; capacity is reserved at placement.

The proposed market fee is 3%. For cumulative executed sell value c, due(c) = max(1, ceil(30 × c / 1,000)) when positive, and zero otherwise. Each fill pays the increment between cumulative dues, avoiding split-fill rounding abuse. A zero-net sale requires clear confirmation. Quantities range from 1 to 9,999; proposed unit prices range from 1 to 100,000,000 Credits. Arithmetic and commercial limits require later verification.

Reference-priced books accept orders within 30%–170% of the current clean reference at placement. Rare cards and World Items without a credible reference use reviewed instance listings instead of fabricated prices. First committed acceptance wins; all competing funded offers release atomically. Any World Item listing, or a proposed transaction of at least 50,000 Credits, requires step-up.

The reference estimator excludes linked manipulation, weights clean trusted observations, limits cluster influence and anchors its daily move to the start-of-day snapshot. Its proposed range is 0.67–1.50 times the exogenous seasonal reference, with a 15% daily move cap. Persistent upward drift at 1.30 times that reference for seven days freezes the estimator for review; a clean shadow recovery below 1.15 for three days is the proposed release condition. Seasonal rebasings require an Economy Patch. These guards are design inputs, not proof of manipulation resistance.

Commodity price shocks may pause a book for 15 minutes; repeated trips require review. Crown shocks pause its book and reserve together for 30 minutes. Cancellation remains available. Pauses, expiry and hold-driven delisting are journaled so recovery cannot reintroduce an expired order.

Crown, Tickets and reversals

Bonus Crown follows a fulfilled captured-payment entitlement and identifiable lots. Eligible PROVISIONAL Crown can be spent in Crown sinks, consumed before CLEARED lots and then oldest-first within each class. Sale requires the lot's clearance and the applicable trust/hold policy; T0/T1/TR lots use a proposed fourteen-day interval. Pending payment and reversed lots cannot authorize spending or sale. Crown sale caps reserve the order's potential gross Credits at placement and recheck actual settlement, including reserve sales. The proposed cap is 12,500 gross Credits per account per realm month.

Tickets move through listings rather than direct trade. The candidate limit is two purchases and two sales per account per month; open listings count against sale room and survive month rollover. Ticket proceeds remain provisional for fourteen days. Under-18 accounts cannot list Tickets or sell Crown; the owning service rejects them before escrow.

Chargeback recovery consumes provisional proceeds, then bank, then wallets down to zero. The outstanding receivable collects permitted incoming Credits before unrestricted use. Corrections never create money to cover missing recovery. Provider refunds reverse actual captured money under their own idempotent provider reference; they do not become a player withdrawal route.

Fallen cards and World Items are never NPC-traded. Their encounter base probability stays 1 / 100,000,000. No supply target, price model, premium reward, pity allowance or population adjustment overrides that rule.

See items and cards, World Items, persistence and premium catalogue for the connected contracts.

The research-wide scalar probes verify cumulative-fee boundaries, split-fill invariance, the documented maximum escrow arithmetic and simple supply conservation. They do not run an order matcher, transaction races, funded-NPC/Treasury economy or payment lifecycle. The required-fix review names those remaining gates. Existing fee, cap and balance proposals are unchanged.
